FreeDOS

FreeDOS is a GNU Public License version of DOS. It is made available to the public under the terms of the GNU Public license. The project is noteworthy and we support it. We have chosen to use FreeDOS version 9 as the operating environment for our non destructive NTFS resizing.

Lightnet has written a variation on the FreeDOS sys command that runs in the Windows XP and Windows 2000 environments. This program makes a FreeDOS FAT16 partition bootable and can be run from the Windows 2000 or Windows XP environment just prior to booting FreeDOS. We hope that the FreeDOS and Windows user community will find this program to be useful.
